Kanayama Dam Cherry Blossom Festival
The 2nd Kanayama Dam Cherry Blossom Festival will be held to celebrate spring in Minamifurano.
A free shuttle bus will operate between Roadside Station Minamifurano and Kanayama Dam Site Park on the day of the event.

This spring event takes place at Kanayama Dam Site Park, a unique location where visitors can enjoy both cherry blossoms and views of Kanayama Dam. On the day of the festival, visitors can enjoy a fully equipped BBQ area, a guided Kanayama Dam tour, a local souvenir market, food trucks, and kids’ activities, making it an event for both families and travelers.

A basic BBQ set including grill, table, chairs, and equipment is available for 3,000 yen (for 2–4 people).
A premium BBQ set with ingredients such as venison from Minamifurano, Shintoku beef, and Shikaoi beef is also available:
6,000 yen for 2 people / 12,000 yen for 3–4 people.
No garbage take-back required.
【Kanayama Dam Guided Tour】 25 participants per tour
12:00 PM – Reception opens for Tour 1
1:00 PM – Tour 1 begins
2:00 PM – Reception opens for Tour 2
3:00 PM – Tour 2 begins
Two free guided tours will be offered, giving visitors a rare chance to explore inside Kanayama Dam.
After registration, participants will be transported to the dam by dedicated vehicle.
【Night Cherry Blossom Illumination】 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Enjoy illuminated cherry blossoms in a different atmosphere from daytime while tasting matcha tea, coffee, sakura mochi, and strawberry daifuku.
【Food Trucks】
• Cafe HOPE: Garlic shrimp and other shrimp dishes
• Showa Shokudo: Yakisoba and other hot meals
• Watanabe Seika: Sakura mochi and strawberry daifuku
• Nikomusu: Rice balls (onigiri)
• Omotesenke Chacha: Matcha tea
• Ruma Coffee: Coffee
In addition, the venue will feature a souvenir market with local products from Minamifurano, Shintoku, and Shikaoi, a photo spot where visitors can take pictures with cherry blossoms and the dam, and a special outdoor display by mont-bell.
The event will be cancelled in case of rain.
Mobile phone signal may be weak in some parts of the venue.
Open flames are permitted only within the paid BBQ area.
The shuttle bus is free of charge.
